You asked

I would like to know the number of women affected by cervical cancer since 2012 till now.

I would like this information sorted by those who have been diagnosed and those who have died in this period.

I would also like it sorted by age, for both categories. I would like it to be sorted in the following age brackets:

  • 16 - 20
  • 21- 25
  • 25 - 30
  • 30+

We said

Cancer Incidence (note ONS only holds England data)

The most recent published cancer incidence data on Cervical Cancer (ICD Code C53) is for 2012, and can be found in table 1 in the excel table in the download.

The age groups presented in the tables are slightly different to those requested, and are:

  • 15-19
  • 20-24
  • 25-29
  • 30+ (all other age groups can be agglomerated to create this age group)

2013 cancer incidence data is currently being processed and will published in the summer.

Cancer Mortality (note this is for England and Wales)

The most recent mortality data is for 2013 registrations and can be found in table 5, tab 5.2 in the excel file in this link.

The 2012 data can be found in the same table in this link

The same age bands are provided as outlined above for cancer incidence.

If these datasets do not meet your requirements special extracts and tabulations of data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate). Such enquiries should be made to: cancer.newport@ons.gov.uk. We recommend that you contact the Life Events and Population Sources team directly in order to discuss your data requirements in more detail.
