Please could you provide figures showing the amount of Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) drivers penalised for non-compliance of Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) regulations and Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) roadside checks?
Please provide the number of fines issued and the amounts involved since the regulations began?

Thank you for your enquiry on the number of HGV drivers penalised for non-compliance of CPC requirements on DVSA roadside checks. Unfortunately, we do not hold statistics on offenders of crimes or non-notifiable offences.
The Home Office publish data on Motoring offences resulting in fixed penalty notices (FPNs) by offence type in their Police powers and procedures, England and Wales, year ending 31 March 2018 release. However they do not provide a detailed breakdown of the offence of non-compliance of CPC requirements on DVSA roadside checks, or a breakdown by vehicle type.
