Census data for the Princes Park 1971, 1981 and 1991

Please provide access to the United Kingdom census data for the Princes Park region of Liverpool for the years 1971, 1981 and 1991.

​Thank you for your Freedom of Information request for 1971,1981 and 1991 Census data for Princes Park region of Liverpool.

In the 1971 Census, Princes Park was a ward within Liverpool County Borough in Lancashire. After a two-tier structure was introduced in 1974, Liverpool County Borough was moved into the Metropolitan County of Merseyside and Princes Park became a locality, which is an area that has no statutory boundary. As such, statistics for Princes Park specifically would need to be compiled by our Census Customer Services team. Please contact Census Customer Services to obtain this further information.

In the 1981 and 1991 Censuses the locality of Princes Park sits within the ward of Granby. In answer to your FOI, we have therefore provided you with data for Princes Park ward for 1971 and Granby ward for 1981 and 1991, although please note that the two geographical areas are not directly comparable.

The ethnic group question was first introduced in the 1991 Census, so this data is not held for the 1971 and 1981 Censuses.
