I am aware that some of the OSR's correspondence is published under the "correspondence" tab on https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fosr.statisticsauthority.gov.uk%2Fcorrespondence-list%2F&data=04%7C01%7CFOI.Team%40ons.gov.uk%7Cc00d4d92867e40e2b96808d8cfa6ae91%7C078807bfce824688bce00d811684dc46%7C0%7C0%7C637487662660844247%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C2000&sdata=H9AMkSafNrwrYoDGKGF59sr7G6j1Aixz8JwqbxHcyi4%3D&reserved=0

Please can you publish (presumably anonymised) all emails sent as replies to those who had sought information, clarification or raised other matters with OSR.

Please cover the period from the start of 2020 to date.

Thank you for your request.

In order to provide the information requested, we would be required to search the outboxes of all members of staff working at the Office for Statistical Regulation (OSR) and the OSR shared mailboxes in order to locate all emails sent as replies to those who have sought information, clarification or raised other matters with OSR. This would essentially be every email response any member of staff has sent to enquiring citizens over the past year. This search would also need to encompass a wide range of possible search terms to ensure all relevant documents are found. The cost limit for replying to a Freedom of Information request is £600 or 24 hours work, and in our view we would need to greatly exceed this with your request.

We would therefore request that you consider limiting the scope of your request to allow us to respond within the cost limit.

It would be helpful to limit the scope of your request to a particular topic, as well as requesting specific types of response. For example, official case work responses, rather than all replies related to any matter. To help you consider the scope of your request, you may want to look at OSRs published issues log, which lists all issues considered as part of casework since April 2020.
