Alternatively, our Deaths registered in England and Wales -- 21st century mortality analysis shows deaths from 2001 to 2020 by individual ICD-10 code.

If this does not meet your needs, we can create a bespoke data request for deaths by the five most common cancer types by age. Special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate).

Such enquiries would fall outside of the Freedom of Information regime and should be made to the HALE Customer Services team on Health.Data@ons.gov.uk.

2021 data is still provisional and subject to change until the publication of the DR Series 2021 in July 2022, this is to allow the inclusion of late registrations. These are deaths which have been referred to Coroner for further investigation.

However, provisional monthly data including leading causes of death are available in our Monthly Mortality Analysis.
