How many British sports people have collapsed or died since the vaccine roll-out?

We said

Thank you for your enquiry.

Unfortunately, we do not hold information on hospital admittance due to sudden collapse and recoveries. NHS Digital would be better placed to assist with this information. They can be contacted via email at enquiries@nhsdigital.nhs.uk.

We hold mortality data for England and Wales. National Records Scotland (NRS) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland. Therefore, we do not hold the requested data for the whole of Britain. Should you wish to obtain Scottish data from NRS and NISRA, they can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk.

The requested information, or something similar, for England and Wales may be available to obtain as bespoke analysis. Such services would be subject to legal frameworks, disclosure controls, resources and agreement of costs. If you would like to request this bespoke dataset, please contact health.data@ons.gov.uk to discuss your enquiry further. Please note, there may be a charge for this work which would be subject to our charging policy.

Mortality data by occupation are coded using the Standard Occupation Classification (SOC 2010). Therefore, we would need to clarify with you what you specifically mean by 'Sports Person' when discussing the information you would like to order. Please note, we are unable to disclose the information by specific individuals in the Sports industry, as this is personal information. Section 39 of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007 (SRSA) renders it a criminal offence to disclose information held by the Statistics Board for statistical purposes that would identify an individual or a body corporate. Therefore, this would not include information on an individual basis. How many British sports people have collapsed or died since the vaccine roll-out?
