Thank you for your request.
We publish population estimates from which you can obtain the number of people resident on the Isle of Wight at mid-2017 (the latest available). Line 264 of Table MYE2 provides the figure for the Isle of Wight.
We also publish data on births, the Isle of Wight figure can be seen at line 306 of Table 3 of the Births Summary Tables.
Unfortunately, we do not have any current data which would allow us to tell you which people were born on the Isle of Wight and currently still live there.
We do not publish data about second homes, however the Ministry for Housing and Community and Local Government does publish data about vacant dwellings by local authority although these may include dwellings which are not second homes.
From the 2011 census there are data about the number of second addresses. The definition of a 'second address' is "an address at which a person stays for more than 30 days per year that is not a person's place of usual residence". This thereby includes people who rent another property as opposed to owning a second home.
