I would be grateful if you could provide:
- The number of female live births registered with the exact first forename "Fynlay" for each year for which records are available.
- Ideally, I would like this information from 1996 onwards, as this appears to be the earliest year covered by the ONS baby-name statistics.
- I am particularly interested in the period 1996–2004, as I am trying to establish whether any girls were registered with the name Fynlay before 30 April 2004.
- If possible, could the 2004 figure be broken down by date, so that registrations before and after 30 April 2004 can be distinguished? If a date-specific breakdown is not possible, the overall number of female registrations for 2004 would still be very helpful.
- Please treat "Fynlay" as an exact spelling and do not combine it with variants such as Finlay, Findlay, Finley, Fionnlagh or any other spelling.
- If figures of one or two registrations are suppressed for statistical disclosure reasons, please indicate this rather than treating the figure as zero.

Between 1996 and 2025 the name Fynlay for girls has been registered 5 times, with all these registrations occurring after April 2004.
For information, we publish baby names with a count of 3 or more annually in table 6 of our Baby names for girls in England and Wales. The name Fynlay does not appear in any of our published records between 1996 to 2025 indicating that the name has seen 2 or fewer registrations each year. These figures have been redacted in order to protect the confidentiality of individuals. This is consistent with the disclosure control methodology used for births.
