Can you also break that figure down in to individual countries within GB?

We are responsible for the production of statistics for births registered in England and Wales. This is driven by information collected from birth certificates. National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. They can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk respectively.
We routinely published baby names each year in our Baby names in England and Wales. The latest publication relates to the year 2021. The associated download provides the number of babies named Josiah 2018-2021 in England and Wales.
The release of baby names data for 2022 will now be published as part of our Births Characteristics release which is provisionally scheduled for publication on May 17 2024. Data for 2023 will be published in due course.
If you wish to obtain data for 2023 prior to the publication of Birth Characteristics 2023, this can be requested via our bespoke services route. These services are subject to disclosure controls, legal frameworks, resources, and an agreement of costs, in line with the ONS Charging Policy.
