Thank you for your request.

The following tables provide the Sexual Orientation breakdowns for both applicants and those offered a job, for the 2019 calendar year, and the 2020 calendar year to date, based on the date a campaign closed for applications.

The tables are based on anonymised data, as per Civil Service recruitment process, no individual diversity monitoring information for candidates are released to the recruiting managers.

Notes:

  1. The Diversity Monitoring questionnaire used within Civil Service Jobs does not separate out 'Gay' or 'Lesbian'

  2. 'Candidates did not categorise themselves' includes:

  • Those who chose not to disclose their Sexual Orientation
  • Those who chose to categorise their Sexual Orientation as something other than the options presented to them
  • Those who were unable to complete the Diversity Monitoring questionnaire due to circumstance outside of their control at the time of application, but still able to submit the application and take part in the process.
