You asked
I'd like to make a freedom of information request on:
The amount of central government funding received on an annual basis over the last three years?
How has this has been distributed amongst your different departments and projects in this period?
We said
Thank you for your request.
The UK Statistics Authority (UKSA) and its executive office (the Office for National Statistics (ONS)) receives government funding through the Parliamentary Supply process but also generates income from revenue contracts with our customers, who are primarily other government departments.
Government funding in each financial year is set out in the UKSA's Annual Report and Accounts, links for each of the last 3 Annual Report and Accounts are listed below:
2024/25: UK Statistics Authority Annual Report and Accounts 2024/25
2023/24: UK Statistics Authority Annual Report and Accounts 2023/24
2022/23: UK Statistics Authority Annual Report and Accounts 2022-23
For parliamentary funding refer to The Statement of Outturn Against Parliamentary Supply section for each year, found on pages 110 to 115 in the 2024/25 version. Government funding is identified as the net outturn figure in SOPS tables 1.1 and 1.2 on pages 112 to 113.
For the distribution of funding and income within the Authority, please refer to Note 2 of the accounts (Segmental Information of Expenditure and Income), which discloses expenditure by reporting departments and programmes. Note 2 can be found on page 141 in the 2024/25 version of the Annual Report.
