Thank you for your request.

The Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE), carried out in April each year, is the most comprehensive source of earnings information in the United Kingdom. ASHE is based on a 1% sample of employee jobs taken from HM Revenue and Customs' Pay As You Earn (PAYE) records. Consequently, individuals with more than one job may appear in the sample more than once. ASHE does not cover the self-employed or employees not paid during the reference period. ASHE information relates to gross pay before tax, National Insurance or other deductions, and excludes payments in kind.

Regarding the specific request:

  1. We do not collect information on grading therefore this information is not held by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

  2. We do not hold minimum hourly rates however earnings percentiles by industry and workplace region can be found in Table 5.5a within ASHE table 5 which is available back to 1997. Please note Agricultural work is labelled as "Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing"

ASHE table 5 can be found here: https://www.ons.gov.ukemploymentandlabourmarket/peopleinwork/earningsandworkinghours/datasets/regionbyindustry2digitsicashetable5

  3. Weekly overtime pay and weekly overtime hours worked by industry and workplace region are available in Tables 5.4a and 5.11a respectively, which lie within ASHE table 5. We do not collect information on the minimum hours at which overtime pay begins. As a result, this information is not held by ONS.
