Please can you tell me if you hold data on the number of infants abandoned in the UK 2002 to current data.
Please provide your answer in the form of a break-down, year-by-year. If possible can it also be country by country.

The ONS Vital Statistics Output Branch published a report showing the number of entries on the Abandoned Children Register, maintained by the General Register Office (GRO), and is accessible via the following link: Birth Statistics: Metadata publication. This data shows the number of abandoned children registered by the General Register Office from 2005 to 2014.
However, we no longer receive this data from the GRO and do not hold any data from 2014 onwards. Therefore, GRO would be better placed to answer your enquiry and can be contacted on certificate.services@gro.gov.uk.
