You asked

I would like to know the total number of UK citizens aged 65 or over at the date of death, who have died within England and Wales since 23rd June 2016 (i.e. on any date after and including 24th June 2016).

The above information does not need to be broken down by age at death, sex, or place of registration of death. However I am only looking for the number of individuals who were aged 65 or over at the time of their deaths.

  • I would like the above information to be presented by total number of deaths per year, with the first count showing deaths between 24th June and 31st December 2016 inclusive.

  • All subsequent completed years should present the total number of deaths between 1st January and 31st December that year inclusive.

  • Information for 2019 should also commence from 1st January 2019 and include the latest complete set of figures for England and Wales.

If possible I would like the above to be split according to whether the number of deaths per year were recorded in England or Wales. If this is not possible please provide the data for England and Wales combined.
