The Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) is the responsibility of the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (formerly the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government). The index has not been updated since 2019: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/english-indices-of-deprivation-2019.

However, on 2 November, ONS released the first of a series of 2021 Census topic summaries - Demography and migration: Census 2021 in England and Wales: https://www.ons.gov.uk/releases/demographyandmigrationcensus2021inenglandandwales.

Within this release is an article on household deprivation, together with a dataset (TS011 – Households by deprivation dimensions) for Local Authorities. We have included this dataset in the associated download named 'Household deprivation by Upper Tier Local Authorities Code.xlsx'.
