Please provide the following information:
All 2020 deaths, 1 row per death to include columns of: i) date of death; ii) age (years) at death; iii) primary death certificate reason (the ICD code); iv) additional columns including secondary/underlying other conditions mentioned on death certificate (also the ICD code, 1 ICD code per column), provided in Excel format and including no special COVID-19 attention.

Unfortunately, we would be unable to provide you with underlying cause of death, age and date of death for all deaths registered from January to October 2020. We have produced several streams of provisional analysis for deaths that have occurred and registered this year in response to the pandemic. However, we are unable to provide you with the requested level of disaggregated data, as such analysis would be disclosive. Section 39 of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007 (SRSA) renders it an offence to disclose information held by the Statistics Board for statistical purposes that would identify an individual. This includes those who have passed away. As we are prohibited by law from publishing statistics in which individuals can be identified, Section 44 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) applies.
This is also in line with our disclosure control policy: Policy on protecting confidentiality in tables of birth and death statistics.
However, access to raw data is available via the ONS secure research service to accredited researchers. The following publication, Death registrations not involving coronavirus (COVID-19): England and Wales, provides provisional counts of the number of total deaths and deaths not involving the coronavirus (COVID-19), between 28 December 2019 and 10 July 2020. This includes deaths disaggregated by age and sex; by region of England, and Wales, and place of death; and for underlying causes of death and deaths involving leading causes.
Within our Monthly mortality analysis, England and Wales: you will find provisional death registration data for England and Wales, broken down by sex, age and country. This includes deaths due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) and leading causes of death for July to October 2020. November data will be published on 17th December 2020.
