Further to your publication named Deaths related to drug poisoning by selected substances, please can I request a breakdown of drug poisoning deaths by these selected substances, specifically for drug poisonings of people resident in Leeds.
Please can I request separate figures for the calendar years 2010-2023.
Please can the breakdown by 'selected substances' also include figures for nitazenes and fentanyl analogues (separately).

We publish figures for deaths related to drug poisoning in Leeds as part of this dataset. In 2023, there were 82 drug poisoning deaths registered in Leeds. Of these deaths, 70 were identified as drug misuse.
We do not routinely produce a breakdown by substance type for local authorities. This is because total drug poisoning deaths for local authorities are relatively low, so breakdowns of this data by individual substance would produce low figures that would be statistically unreliable and potentially disclosive.
We could produce the requested analysis via our bespoke services route. However, please note that we would not recommend drawing conclusions regarding the trend in deaths by particular substance from this information. Please also note that there are likely to be suppression in the data, as low figures could allow an individual to be identified. Bespoke services are subject to legal frameworks, resources, disclosure controls, and an agreement of costs in line with the ONS Charging Policy.
