The article investigates the financial position of households in recent years, where the Covid-19 pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis have had large impacts on flows and stocks of household finances. It provides new estimates of the accumulated value of excess savings, where these are invested and what factors explain the sustained level of above-average savings ratio post-pandemic.
