In Table 1, the number of maternities in 2018 has changed from 649,626 to 649,624. This is because of an error during analysis of the dataset and this correction brings the figure in line with our 2018 Birth Characteristics figure.

In Table 1, the percentage of live births to non-UK born mothers in 2015 changed from 27.5 to 27.6. This is because of a rounding error.

The impact of these changes is minimal and does not affect the trends seen.

The 2021 dataset has been revised to denote stillbirth rates in Table 3 based on fewer than 3 births as [x], as rates based on such low numbers are susceptible to inaccurate interpretation. No other figures have been changed.
