A correction has been made to the 2019 to 2020 estimates for feeling safe in one’s local area when walking alone after dark. The correction is reflected in the estimates referenced in the bulletin in Sections 3 and 5, the estimates presented in the data download for Figure 3 and the estimates in worksheets 4.4a and 4.4b of the Social capital headline indicators data tables. This was done to amend a coding mistake because of which those 16 to 17 years old were not appropriately excluded from the 2019 to 2020 sample. This mistake happened because of human error. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

A correction has been made to the “All indicators Overview” tab. This is as there was an error in the “Latest period” column for “Percentage of people who in the last 4 weeks received practical help from family, friends or neighbours who do not live with them “, “Percentage of people who provided financial help to family, friends or neighbours who do not live with them” and “Percentage of people who received financial help from family, friends or neighbours who do not live with them”. This doesn’t impact any estimates. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.
