We have identified and corrected an error in the calculation of management practices scores in the Management and Expectations Survey (MES) 2020 affecting the management practices scores for 2019, 2020 and 2023 in this publication.
The error occurred as part of the calculation of scores of firms who responded that there was no use of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Targets. These firms were given missing scores to the follow-up KPI and Targets questions rather than zero scores. We have also brought into alignment the scoring schedule for calculating management practice scores in 2016 to that of 2019, 2020 and 2023.
The correction changes some of the main points of the bulletin.

The previous version had an average management score of 0.57 in 2023, 0.51 in 2020, 0.49 in 2019 and 0.50 in 2016.
