Average house price in Ceredigion was £250,000 in May 2024

The provisional average house price in Ceredigion in May 2024 was £250,000. This was higher than the average of £236,000 in May 2023 (revised), a 5.8% rise.

Across Wales, the average house price in May 2024 was £216,000, which was more than a year earlier (£211,000).

This meant that, in May 2024, Ceredigion had the fourth highest average house price in Wales.

Across Great Britain, a home sold for an average of £288,000 in May 2024, which was up from the May 2023 average of £282,000.

In the year to May 2024, the average price for semi-detached properties in Ceredigion rose by 7.3%, while the average price for flats increased by 4.2%.

For each property type, average prices as of May 2024 in Ceredigion were:

• Detached properties: £317,000
• Semi-detached properties: £212,000
• Terraced properties: £185,000
• Flats and maisonettes: £121,000

Average private rents rose in Ceredigion

The provisional average price paid by first-time buyers was £229,000 in May 2024. This was higher than the revised May 2023 average of £215,000.

In comparison, home-movers in Ceredigion paid an average of £274,000 in May 2024. This was higher than £260,000 a year earlier.

In May 2024, the average price was £250,000 in Wales and £332,000 in Great Britain.
