A preliminary indication of the age and sex structure of the UK population for mid-year 2020 and a range of scenario-based values for end of year 2020. The purpose of the early indicators (which are not National Statistics) is to provide an early insight on the possible size of the UK population outside of the regular series of statistical releases. Detailed official mid-year population estimates by age, sex and area for mid-2020 will be published in summer 2021.
