The current National Statistician John Pullinger is due to leave his post on 30 June. The UK Statistics Authority Board has asked the Deputy National Statistician for Economic Statistics Jonathan Athow to cover the role in the interim.
The announcement of a new National Statistician will be made later in the summer.
