For 2017, the latest year of available data from the LCRE economy survey, estimated full time equivalent direct employment in the LCRE economy in Scotland within the Manufacturing industry was 4,500.

This estimate has a 95% confidence interval of 3,600 to 5,400. A 95 per cent confidence interval is a range within which the true population would fall for 95 per cent of the times the sample survey was repeated. It is a standard way of expressing the statistical accuracy of a survey based estimate.
