Thank you for your enquiry.

The fact that a person was homeless or 'of no fixed abode' is not always specifically recorded at death registration. Consequently, exact numbers of such deaths are not routinely available. We have developed a method of identifying probable deaths of homeless people using multiple searches of the registration data, combined with a statistical model which estimates the total number of deaths after allowing for a proportion that have not been identified.

Estimates of deaths of homeless people in England and Wales in 2013 to 2017, with some geographical breakdowns, were published on 20 December 2018 -

Please note that these are experimental statistics; https://www.ons.gov.uk/methodology/methodologytopicsandstatisticalconcepts/guidetoexperimentalstatistics

We have not yet produced figures for areas smaller than Wales and the English regions, and Combined Authorities in England. Estimates for local authorities are likely to be less statistically robust, while there is potential for confidentiality issues to arise with local level data. We expect to publish such lower-level figures in the future, after further consideration of the methods.

If the published information does not meet your needs, we may be able to produce an ad-hoc table. Special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate).
