Thank you for your request.

We are responsible for publishing mortality statistics for deaths registered in England and Wales, using the information supplied on the death certificate.

Unfortunately, we do not hold the table you have requested.

A table with specific data criteria such as this would need to be created in order to fulfil your request. This would fall outside of the Freedom of Information regime as we are not obliged to create data sets in order to respond to requests. Therefore, the information outlined in your request is not available.

We can however provide the following COVID-19 data sets are available:

Quarterly mortality report, England: April to June 2019: This provides provisional death registration and death occurrence data for England, broken down by sex and age. From this dataset (Figure 4) you would be able to observe the number of death occurrences in England for April 20th, 2019. This is however for England as a whole and not individual regions.

Deaths registered weekly in England and Wales, provisional. This provides provisional counts of the number of deaths registered in England and Wales, by age, sex and region, in the latest weeks for which data are available. Includes the most up-to-date figures available for deaths involving the coronavirus (COVID-19).

This dataset would allow you to see the number of provisional weekly deaths for London from the beginning of 2020, and each week of 2019 for comparison. However, these numbers are for death registrations as opposed to occurrences and are weekly rather than daily.
