Please provide the the number of British citizens who died abroad per year for the last 10 years (2007-2017), split by gender (male and female). I would be grateful if you could also provide a breakdown as to the cause of death for males and females.

We only hold data on those deaths that are registered in England and Wales.
There is an option to register the death of those abroad with the General Register Office, but this is not compulsory. The information available may be different from that collected at registration in this country. Please contact the General Register Office for more information GROCasework@gro.gov.uk
