This file looks at the number of deaths where the underlying cause was due to accidental poisoning by drugs, medicaments and biological substances, defined using the International Classification of Diseases Tenth Revision (ICD-10) codes X40-X44.
Please note: Figures for accidental drug misuse deaths in Table 2 are included in the overall number of accidental drug related deaths in Table 1.
