I am requesting any statistics that are available around how many babies are named after Royal family members in the UK. If this data is available relating to the past year that would be preferred. E.g how many babies born in 2020 were named after Royal family members.

We are responsible for the provision of statistics for England and Wales. National Records Scotland (NRS) and the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) are responsible for statistics pertaining to Scotland and Northern Ireland. They can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk respectively.
However, we do hold data on baby names in England and Wales.
Our publication Baby names in England and Wales: 2019 is the latest data available. In Table 6 of the datasets accompanying this bulletin, you will find all names with a count of more than 3.
This publication will be updated with 2020 data for baby names in England and Wales in August/September 2021.
