You asked

Please provide information on drug offences among young people from 2000-2017, preferably from the London area.

We said

Thank you for your request for data on drug offences among young people.

Unfortunately we do not hold the specific information that you have requested.

The Home Office are responsible for collating and publishing data on drug misuse offences. They publish an annual report on drug misuse statistics, based on data from the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW). This includes data on the proportion of 16-24 year olds who have used drugs and data on the frequency of drug use by this age group.

We publish data on the number of offences related to trafficking and possession of controlled drugs recorded by the police in Appendix Table A4 of our ‘Crime in England and Wales’ quarterly bulletin. Data on drug offences for London are available in our Police force Area Data Tables. We do not hold data that identifies whether the offender was a young person.

The Home Office may be able to help you further with your request and can be contacted at; CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk.
