​​1. I've been told "only 367 have died of Covid-19 with no pre existing condition". Can you please provide the definitive number who have died this year of COVID-19 with no pre-existing health condition.

2. Have more people died this year than average over the last 5 years? Can you provide total deaths for each year 2015-2020.

Deaths from COVID-19 with no underlying health conditions from March to June 2020 is available in the following publication: Deaths involving COVID-19, England and Wales. Between March to June 2020, there were 4,476 deaths involving COVID-19 where there are no pre-existing conditions. Please see the following table extracted from the above publication.

Please note, this publication has now been paused. In order to provide an update of this publication to include data from July to November 2020, we would need to create bespoke analysis, therefore we do not hold the requested information.

Annual death totals for 2006-2019 are available via the following publication: Deaths registered in England and Wales. This publication provides registered deaths by age, sex, selected underlying causes of death and the leading causes of death.

The following dataset, Deaths registered weekly in England and Wales, provides weekly totals of all deaths so far in 2020. The total number of deaths for each week this year can be found in Row 9 of the 'Weekly figures 2020' tab. Row 10 of the same tab provides a comparison with the 5-year average.
